Following their split earlier this year Fearless Vampire Killers (FVK) will be playing one last show at the Underworld in Camden. This will be the last chance for fans to see the full band perform alongside vocalist and guitarist Kier Kemp. Support will be from ZOAX and Ashestoangels, to commemorate different chapters in the bands history. The band spent 8 years together but made the collective decision to call it a day following the departure of co-frontman Kier Kemp in early July 2016, cancelling all remaining tour dates for the rest of the year including Reading and Leeds.
FVK, formed in 2008 and garnered a loyal and unique fan base, that grew out of their independent thinking outside of the box attitude, releasing novels and even creating their own social network. Although, it was their three self-released albums that gained them their popularity, having slots at Download and the Vans Warped Tour UK as well as supporting Black Veiled Brides, Enter Shikari and In This Moment, alongside headline runs in the UK & Europe. FVK created an inspired and creative world that fans got to lose themselves in for 8 years, and in the legacy they leave, future fans will surely explore it too.
A message from the band about their split and farewell show:
“It’s always difficult knowing how to close the book on something that was so important. Despite various emotions involved, we all agreed that we wanted to do the best by our fans and a fitting farewell was what was needed. So we’ll be doing this one show – with Kier too – at the Underworld in Camden. We can’t think of a better place than this as it’s been home to so many great shows for us! Expect an emotional and hopefully fun night all round complimented by the brilliant supports, all chosen by us from bands that have played a big part in our story. See you there!” – FVK
Thank you and goodbye from ALT-MU
The band will always have a special place in our hearts here at ALT-MU as they featured in the magazine many times, with one of the most memorable moments being their show in Brighton during their Unbreakable Hearts. FVK also wrote a great article for us, for which we will always remember the wisdom they imparted. ALT-MU wishes them the best for the future and that there farewell show is as energetic and great as they have been the last 8 years.
Tickets for the farewell show are available here.
